The Beinecke Scholarship Program is designed for college-bound high school seniors, graduate students, and professionals with strong global or international affairs backgrounds who want to grow their knowledge base. Suppose you’re a college junior with exceptional motivation and aspirations of completing a graduate degree in the Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences. In that case, you might consider applying for the Beinecke Scholarship Program. This scholarship is backed by The Sperry and Hutchinson Company, a corporation founded by the Beinecke brothers, who shared a strong passion for corporate philanthropy. To pay homage to Edwin, Frederick, and Walter Beinecke, the company’s Board of Directors established this scholarship in 1971 to offer financial aid and encourage exceptional students to pursue arts, humanities, and social sciences opportunities. The selected scholars will receive $5,000 before starting graduate school and an additional $30,000 during their time in graduate school. Any qualified applicant admitted to a full-time graduate program at Yale University can apply for the Beinecke Scholarship.
- The Beinecke Program Committee seeks students with outstanding academic excellence records, a strong desire to pursue an advanced degree in the arts, humanities, or social sciences, and strong leadership and communication skills.
- Candidates should have a minimum 3.0 GPA with exceptional transcripts in writing and foreign languages. They must be enrolled full-time for the fall semester and show strong motivation to continue their studies in graduate school.
- The Beinecke Scholarship program is looking for candidates who will significantly enrich the educational experience of Yale students and faculty while they pursue their graduate degrees.
