If you’re a high school senior passionate about writing or public speaking and plan to attend college, apply for the U.S. Creative Writing Awards Scholarship. This scholarship is available to high school seniors who submit an original work of fiction, drama, poetry, memoir/personal essay, or spoken word piece. The program is funded by Penguin Random House, a multinational publishing company, and is designed to encourage and promote diverse storytelling among the next generation of authors. Since 1993, the program has awarded more than $2.8 million in scholarships to empower and celebrate young writers. Every year, five recipients, one for each category, are selected and can receive up to $10,000 towards their college expenses.
