About This Scholarship

The YoungArts Competition is a national arts competition for high school students in the United States. The competition is open to students between the ages of 15 and 18 who demonstrate exceptional talent and skill in one or more of the following categories: visual arts, literary arts, performing arts, design, and cinematic arts.

The YoungArts Competition is designed to identify and support the next generation of artists and to provide them with opportunities for mentorship, networking, and professional development. Eligibility Criteria For YoungArts Competition

The National YoungArts Foundation sponsors an annual competition that recognizes and supports young artists in a variety of disciplines, including visual arts, writing, music, theater, dance, and film. To be eligible for the YoungArts competition, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be between the ages of 15 and 18 or in high school grades 10-12 at the time of application.
  • Be a citizen of the United States or a permanent resident, or be able to provide proof of lawful U.S. residency at the time of application.
  • Be a talented artist in one or more of the following categories: visual arts, writing, music, theater, dance, or film.
  • Submit a completed application, including a portfolio of your work or a writing sample, as well as letters of recommendation and a personal statement.
