The Herbert Hoover Uncommon Student Award is a scholarship program that provides financial assistance to Iowa high school juniors who have demonstrated an uncommon commitment to public service, community involvement, and academic excellence. The program is named after Herbert Hoover, the 31st President of the United States, who was born in Iowa.
The scholarship awards up to $10,000 per year to eligible students who meet the program’s requirements. Selection is based on academic achievement, community involvement, leadership potential, and commitment to public service.
In addition to the scholarship, the program provides recipients with opportunities to attend leadership and public service events, as well as mentoring and networking opportunities with other Herbert Hoover Uncommon Student Award recipients.
