The University of California- Irvine Director’s Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded to a limited number of incoming freshmen students who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to community service. The scholarship provides an award of $1,000 per year for up to four years of undergraduate study at UC Irvine, as well as priority registration for classes, access to special events and programs, and mentoring and leadership opportunities.
Applicants for the scholarship must submit a separate application, which includes essays, letters of recommendation, and a detailed record of their academic and extracurricular achievements. Finalists are selected based on the strength of their application materials, and may be required to participate in an interview or attend an on-campus event as part of the selection process.
While the Director’s Scholarship provides a smaller financial award than some other scholarships, it is still a prestigious honor that recognizes outstanding achievement and provides valuable opportunities for leadership development and community engagement during a student’s undergraduate career at UC Irvine.
