Its Fund was founded by Lutheran Family Services to help Nebraskan high school seniors from low-income, minority families attend college. No of where they choose to attend college, each laureate receives an annual scholarship worth $25,000 to help with costs. Recipients may also apply for annual scholarships worth $12,500 for trade school.
Students who intend to enrol in their first year of post-secondary education the next academic year must: Graduate from a Nebraska high school or earn their GED in the current academic year; being a Nebraska resident at the time of graduation; demonstrate financial necessity, which is understood to be a low-income household with an adjusted gross family income of at least $65,000.
