This scholarship was established in 1995 in memory of the late Bobette Bibo Gugliotta, who wrote numerous books, including Women of Mexico: The Consecrated and the Commoners, 1519–1900; Katzimo: Mysterious Mesa; Pigboat 39, about a World War II submarine. Mrs. Gugliotta created a narrative about a mouse who subsequently became Mickey in 1930 when she was only 11 years old.
Before moving to the Peninsula in 1962, they resided in a number of places across the United States and Latin America. She is remembered by her family and friends as a wife, mother, hostess, and someone who was “never bored, never tired, always curious.”
