About This Scholarship

If you’re a high school senior planning to attend college and need financial aid, consider applying for the Dell Scholars Program. This program is open to incoming college students eligible for the Pell Grant and has completed a college readiness program during grades 11 and 12. The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation established the program in 1999 to help low-income students pursue higher education. Each year, the program selects 500 students to become Dell Scholars and receives $20,000 for college expenses. Additionally, Dell Scholars receive various benefits, such as a laptop, Chegg credits for textbooks, access to teletherapy, and more. The organization’s website also has resources tailored to help students prepare for college, including college planning advice, a college search tool, and a list of admissions requirements.

Eligibility Criteria For Dell Scholars Program

  • High School Senior: The program is open to seniors currently enrolled in a US-accredited high school and is on track to graduate with their class.
  • Low-Income Background: Applicants must demonstrate a financial need to be considered for the scholarship. The Dell Scholars Program is specifically designed to help students from low-income backgrounds who have faced significant barriers to pursuing higher education.
  • Minimum GPA: Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.4 on a 4.0 scale. However, the selection committee considers other factors besides GPA, such as perseverance, grit, and leadership potential.
