About This Scholarship

The Korean American Scholarship Foundation offers various scholarships to support Korean American students who are pursuing higher education in the United States. The KASF scholarships are awarded based on academic merit, financial need, and leadership potential, and they are open to students who are of Korean heritage and are either U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

The KASF General Scholarship Program is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled full-time in an accredited institution in the United States. The KASF-Southern Region Scholarship Program and the KASF-Eastern Region Scholarship Program are open to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled full-time in an accredited institution in the Southern or Eastern region of the United States, respectively.

Eligibility Criteria For KASF Scholarships

The Korean American Scholarship Foundation offers scholarships to students of Korean heritage studying in the United States. To be eligible for KASF Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Korean Heritage: Applicants must be of Korean heritage, as defined by KASF.
  • Citizenship: Applicants must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or foreign students with an appropriate visa status.
  • Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at an accredited university or college in the United States.
  • Academic Achievement: All the applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Applicants must demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, and leadership.
  • Recommendation Letters: Applicants must submit at least two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to the applicant’s character, academic performance, and potential for success.
