Eligibility Criteria For Stewardship Scholarship Essay Contest

The Stewardship Scholarship Essay Contest is offered by the National Farmers Union (NFU) and is open to high school seniors who are planning to attend a two- or four-year college or university in the fall. The eligibility criteria for the Stewardship Scholarship Essay Contest are as follows:

  • Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
  • Age: Applicants must be high school seniors.
  • Academic Achievement: Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Field of Study: Applicants must be planning to pursue a degree in agriculture or a related field, such as sustainable agriculture, food policy, rural sociology, or agricultural economics.
  • Essay: Applicants must submit a 500- to 1,000-word essay on the topic of “How can cooperatives demonstrate their value to the next generation of agriculturists?”
