If you’re interested in delving into your family’s history and genealogy, the Rubincam Youth Award might be just what you’re looking for! This award is available to middle and high school students who have put together a well-prepared genealogy. The National Genealogical Society, founded in 1903 in Washington, D.C., is a group dedicated to genealogy and offers a scholarship. They were the first national organization focused on genealogy and have long been leaders in the field. The award is named after Milton Rubincam, a dedicated genealogist who served the National Genealogical Society for many years and contributed significantly to the field. The Rubincam Youth Award honors his legacy by encouraging and recognizing young people as the next generation of family historians. The scholarship includes a $500 cash prize for one high school student, a $250 cash for one middle school student, a plaque, and a one-year NGS membership.
