About This Scholarship

If you’re a final-year veterinary student in New England, consider applying for the VSTONE Scholar Award. This scholarship is available to individuals in their final year of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or college program and are residents of New England. The Veterinary Scholarship Trust of New England, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to New Englanders studying veterinary medicine, offers the scholarship. Each year, six students, one from each of the six New England States, are awarded $5,000. If you’re passionate about pursuing a career in veterinary medicine and need financial assistance to complete your final year of veterinary school, we encourage you to apply for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria For VSTONE Scholar Award

  • Residency: Applicants must be residents of one of the six New England states (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont). Proof of residency may be required.
  • Education: Applicants must be enrolled in their final year of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or college program. Proof of enrollment may be required.
  • Financial Need: Applicants must demonstrate a need for financial assistance to complete their final year of veterinary school. Financial information and supporting documents may be required.
  • Academic Excellence: Applicants must have a strong academic record and demonstrate potential for success in veterinary medicine. Transcripts and letters of recommendation may be required.
  • Passion for Veterinary Medicine: Applicants must be committed to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine and demonstrate a passion for the field. Personal statements and interviews may be used to assess this criterion.
