If your parents are serving or have retired from the military, and you’re a current or potential college student, you might consider applying for the Scholarships for Military Children Program. The program is available to students attending two- or four-year colleges and universities, and it’s designed to help support the families of military and veteran service members by providing financial assistance for their children’s education. The program is administered by the Fisher House Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Maryland that focuses on building homes for military families in need. Each year, the program awards $2,000 in scholarships to 500 students either attending college or planning to enroll shortly.
