About This Scholarship

The Ohio State University Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship (LGOS) is a need-based scholarship program that provides financial assistance to eligible Ohio residents who are first-generation college students or who come from low-income families. The LGOS program is designed to ensure that students who have the potential to succeed in college have the opportunity to do so, regardless of their financial circumstances.

The scholarship provides full tuition and fees for up to four years of undergraduate study at Ohio State University, as well as a $2,000 per year living stipend. To be eligible for the LGOS, students must be Ohio residents who are admitted to Ohio State University as first-year students, and who have a family income at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.

The LGOS scholarship program is part of Ohio State University’s commitment to providing access to higher education for students from all backgrounds.

Eligibility Criteria For Ohio State University Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship

The Ohio State University Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship is a need-based scholarship program for Ohio residents who are first-year students at Ohio State University. The program is designed to help students who have demonstrated financial need and have overcome significant obstacles in their lives to pursue a college education.

To be eligible for the Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be an Ohio resident.
  • Be a first-year student at Ohio State University and must demonstrate significant financial need based on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Be admitted to Ohio State University as a full-time student.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to community service and leadership.
  • Have overcome significant obstacles or challenges in their lives.

The Land Grant Opportunity Scholarship provides full tuition and a $2,000 annual living stipend for up to four years of undergraduate study. Recipients are also eligible for funding for study abroad, research, and other experiential learning opportunities.
