About This Scholarship

The Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) is a scholarship program offered by the United States Department of Defense (DoD) to support eligible students pursuing degrees in healthcare fields. The program is designed to provide financial assistance to individuals who are interested in serving as healthcare professionals in the United States Armed Forces.

Once selected, the scholarship pays for full tuition, required fees, and provides a monthly stipend. In exchange for the scholarship, recipients commit to serving a period of active duty service as healthcare professionals in the United States Armed Forces after completing their degree. The length of service obligation varies based on the length of the scholarship and the recipient’s career path, but generally ranges from two to four years of active duty service.

The application process for the HPSP involves submitting an online application and supporting documents, such as transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement. Applicants will also undergo a physical examination and a background check as part of the selection process.
