About This Scholarship

Are you a high school senior actively involved in the movement to improve race relations through activism and volunteer work? Check out the Princeton Prize in Race Relations if the preceding description sounds like you. Around 29 people who have earned it will each receive $1,000 as a token of appreciation from this initiative for everything they have accomplished. The winners will also be asked to attend a symposium on race relations, where they will have the chance to meet and discuss topics related to race relations with other winners and notable speakers.

Eligibility Criteria For Princeton Prize in Race Relations

  • Student Status: The prize is open to high school students in the United States who are in grades 9 through 12. Students who have graduated from high school are not eligible.
  • Commitment to Promoting Understanding and Respect: To be eligible for the prize, students must have demonstrated a commitment to promoting understanding and respect among people of different races. This can be done in various ways, such as by organizing events, leading initiatives, or engaging in dialogue.
  • Specific Criteria: Students will be evaluated based on specific criteria, including The impact of their efforts on their school or community, The creativity and originality of their approach to promoting understanding and respect, and The sustainability of their efforts over time.
  • Application Process: Students must complete and submit an application by the deadline. The application includes an essay, a letter of recommendation, and a description of the student’s efforts to promote understanding and respect among people of different races.
  • Regional and National Prizes: Regional committees will review applications and select winners in their respective regions. Regional winners will be considered for national recognition and a cash prize.
  • Participation in Princeton University Programs: Winners of the prize will have the opportunity to participate in programs at Princeton University related to race relations, including a symposium and an awards ceremony.
