Des Moines Women’s Club Literature Scholarship

The eligibility criteria for the Des Moines Women’s Club Literature Scholarship are as follows:

• Be a female student who is a legal resident of Iowa.
• Be a high school senior who is planning to enroll full-time in an accredited college or university, or be a current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university.
• Plan to major or be majoring in English or a related field, such as creative writing, journalism, or communications.
• The personal essay should describe the applicant’s interest in the study of literature, their career goals, and their commitment to using their education to make a positive impact on their community.
• Demonstrate a strong interest in literature and writing, as evidenced by academic achievements, writing samples, and extracurricular activities.
• Submit a completed application form, official transcripts, a personal statement, a writing sample, and two letters of recommendation.

It is important to note that meeting these criteria does not guarantee selection as a recipient of the Des Moines Women’s Club Literature Scholarship, as the program is highly competitive.
