About This Scholarship

The 5 Strong Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to young women of color who are pursuing higher education. The foundation was established in honor of the “Five Strong” – five women of color who graduated from the same high school and went on to achieve great success in their respective fields.

The foundation provides scholarships of up to $5,555 to young women of color who are currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in the United States. The foundation recognizes the importance of diversity and representation in higher education and in the workforce, and is committed to supporting young women of color as they pursue their academic and professional goals.

Eligibility Criteria For 5 Strong Scholarship Foundation

The 5 Strong Scholarship Foundation is a scholarship program that supports students who have overcome adversity in their lives and demonstrated exceptional resilience, leadership, and academic achievement. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • They must be a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States.
  • They must have overcome adversity in their lives, such as a serious illness, a major life change, or a difficult family situation.
  • They must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and they must demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities through their involvement in extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or community service.
  • They must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
  • To apply for the scholarship, applicants must submit an application form, a personal statement describing their personal journey and achievements, two letters of recommendation, and a transcript of their academic record.

The scholarship provides a one-time award of $5,555 to the winner, and the funds can be used to cover education-related expenses such as tuition, fees, books, and supplies.
