About This Scholarship

The AASP-MN Scholarship is a scholarship program offered by the Minnesota chapter of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP-MN). This scholarship is intended to support students who are pursuing a graduate degree in sport psychology or a related field, such as exercise science, kinesiology, or counseling psychology, and who demonstrate a commitment to the field of sport psychology. The scholarship is awarded annually to one or more students who meet the eligibility criteria and who have submitted a completed application. The scholarship amount varies each year and can range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. The scholarship funds can be used to cover tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses related to the recipient’s graduate program.

Eligibility Criteria For AASP-MN Scholarship

The eligibility criteria for the AASP-MN Scholarship, offered by the Minnesota chapter of the American Association of School Psychologists (AASP-MN), are as follows:

  • The applicant must be currently enrolled in a graduate-level program in school psychology in Minnesota, or be a Minnesota resident enrolled in a school psychology graduate program outside the state.
  • The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in their graduate coursework.
  • The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to the field of school psychology, as evidenced by their coursework, research interests, and involvement in school psychology-related activities or organizations.
  • The applicant must submit a completed application form, a personal statement outlining their academic and professional goals, a resume or curriculum vitae, and at least two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to their academic abilities and potential as a school psychologist.

The applicant must be a member of AASP-MN at the time of application. If the applicant is not currently a member, they can join by submitting a membership application and payment of the membership fee with their scholarship application.
