About This Scholarship

The Aga Khan International Scholarship Program is a scholarship program established by the Aga Khan Development Network to support outstanding students from developing countries who are pursuing postgraduate studies at top universities around the world. The scholarship program is named after His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Ismaili Muslim community and the founder of the Aga Khan Development Network. Eligibility Criteria For Aga Khan International Scholarship Program

The Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to outstanding students from developing countries who are pursuing postgraduate studies. The eligibility criteria for this scholarship program are as follows:

  • Applicants must be citizens of a developing country, with priority given to those from Africa, Central Asia, South Asia, the Middle East, and a few other specific countries.
  • Applicants must have a strong academic record and have completed their undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
  • Applicants must have at least two years of work experience in a development-related field after completing their undergraduate degree.
  • Applicants must be admitted to a reputable university or program for a full-time, residential postgraduate degree program in one of the eligible fields of study, which includes but is not limited to: architecture, health, education, law, economics, engineering, history, music, and social sciences.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a genuine need for financial assistance and the potential to make a significant contribution to the development of their home country or region.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate fluency in English or the language of instruction for the chosen program of study.
