The AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship Award is a scholarship program designed to provide financial assistance to liberal arts and non-business degree holders who are pursuing a graduate accounting degree and who plan to become Certified Public Accountants (CPAs). The scholarship program is named after John L. Carey, a former AICPA Chairman, who was instrumental in advancing the profession of accounting.
The scholarship program provides up to $5,000 per year to eligible candidates for a maximum of five years or until the recipient passes the CPA exam, whichever comes first. The scholarship is intended to cover a portion of the recipient’s tuition, fees, and textbooks.
Applicants must also be enrolled or accepted into a graduate-level accounting program that is accredited by the AACSB or ACBSP and must intend to pursue the CPA designation.
The AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship Award is highly competitive, and applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to the accounting profession.
