About This Scholarship

Are you a senior in high school aspiring to have a career in engineering? Take into consideration submitting your application for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship! Students with strong academic potential and limited financial resources interested in pursuing a career in computer science are encouraged to apply for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship. Amazon (yes, that Amazon!) is funding this award. Each year, one hundred deserving students are selected at random to receive a scholarship to earn a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer programming, or any other field linked to computer science. Eligibility Criteria For Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship

  • Citizenship and residency: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents residing in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
  • High school seniors: The Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship is open to seniors currently enrolled in a public high school or charter school in the United States. Private school students are not eligible to apply.
  • Academic achievement: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. They must also have taken one or more Advanced Placement (AP) computer science or mathematics courses and received a grade of 3 or higher.
  • Financial need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Student Aid Report (SAR).
  • College enrollment: Applicants must plan to enroll full-time in an accredited four-year college or university in the United States as a computer science or related field major.
  • Personal statement and letters of recommendation: Applicants must submit a personal statement explaining their interest in computer science and how the scholarship will help them achieve their academic and career goals. They must also provide two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or other professionals who can speak to their academic achievement and potential.
