About This Scholarship

APIA Scholars is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the lives of APIA students by enhancing their access to higher education resources and funding the APIA Scholarship Program. APIA Scholars is the charity that offers to fund the APIA Scholarship Program. Their APIA Scholarship Program helps several students who originate from families with low incomes or who are the first in their families to attend college by providing scholarships worth up to $20,000 per year. APIA Scholars is the support organization for a national network of students and alumni. Their mission is to improve the lives of Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) students by enhancing their access to higher education resources and by funding the APIA Scholarship Program.

Eligibility Criteria For APIA Scholarship Program

  • APIA Heritage: The applicant must have at least one Asian and Pacific Islander parent or be of Asian and Pacific Islander descent as defined by the U.S. Census.
  • Citizenship: The applicant must be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States.
  • Enrollment: The applicant must be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university in the U.S. during the scholarship award year.
  • Academic Achievement: The applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale, or the equivalent.
  • Financial Need: The applicant must have a household income at or below the low-income threshold established by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Other Factors: The applicant may also be evaluated based on extracurricular activities, community service, leadership experiences, and other factors.
