About This Scholarship

The ARFORA Helen Muntean Education Scholarship for Women is a scholarship program that is sponsored by the American Romanian Orthodox Youth (ARFORA) organization. The scholarship is named in honor of Helen Muntean, a dedicated member of the organization who was passionate about supporting women’s education.

The scholarship is designed to support women who are pursuing higher education in any field of study. The ARFORA Helen Muntean Education Scholarship provides financial support to recipients to cover educational expenses, including tuition, books, and other related expenses. The scholarship program aims to support women in pursuing their academic and career goals, as well as to promote the values of the Romanian Orthodox Church and the ARFORA organization.

Scholarships are given to women of The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America who have finished their first year of a baccalaureate programme at an accredited college or university (enrolled in the School of Education with the intention of becoming teachers) based on academic achievement, character, worthiness, and participation in religious life. Prior to applying, the candidate must have been a communicant member—or the daughter of a communicant member—of a Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America church or mission for at least a year.
