About This Scholarship

The ASNE (American Society of News Editors) Scholarship Program is a scholarship initiative that was previously offered by the organization. However, as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the ASNE Scholarship Program is no longer active. The ASNE Scholarship Program was aimed at supporting and encouraging students pursuing careers in journalism. It provided financial assistance to undergraduate students interested in print, online, or multimedia journalism. The scholarships were typically awarded based on academic excellence, journalism experience, and commitment to the field.

While the ASNE Scholarship Program is no longer active, there may be other scholarship opportunities available for aspiring journalists. I recommend checking with journalism organizations, media companies, and universities that offer journalism programs for information on current scholarship opportunities in the field.

Eligibility Criteria For ASNE Scholarship Program

As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) Scholarship Program had the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate engineering or related science degree program at a college or university in the United States.
  • Undergraduate applicants must have completed at least one year of college or university coursework by the time the scholarship is awarded.
  • Graduate applicants must have completed at least one semester of graduate coursework by the time the scholarship is awarded.
  • Must have a demonstrated interest in naval engineering or a related field.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
  • Must submit a completed application along with supporting documentation, including transcripts, recommendation letters, a personal statement, and a resume or curriculum vitae.

The ASNE Scholarship Program may have made changes to their eligibility requirements since then. To get the most accurate and up-to-date information, it is recommended to visit the official ASNE website or contact them directly for details about the scholarship and its eligibility criteria.
