About This Scholarship

Tuition and other education-related costs that are payable to the college may be covered by scholarships. Direct funding will be delivered to the college. In addition to completing the application, candidates must also submit a personal essay, an FAFSA report, a school transcript, and a letter of recommendation. Since 2007, the British American Foundation of Texas (BAFTX) has helped exceptional and brilliant young people realise their goals.

The following requirements must be met in order to qualify for the BAFTX Undergraduate Award: the applicant must be a Texas resident; enrolled full-time in the Texas educational system; intend to major in science, technology, engineering, math, or business; come from a low-income family; and maintain a GPA of at least 3 (for current college students) or 3.5 (for current high school students).

Eligibility Criteria For BAFTX Undergraduate Award

  • Academic Achievement: Typically, scholarships for brilliant students require a strong academic record. This may include maintaining a high grade point average (GPA) or being in the top percentage of your class.
  • Standardized Test Scores: Some scholarships may consider standardized test scores, such as the SAT or ACT, as part of the eligibility criteria. They may require a minimum score or specific percentile ranking.
  • Field of Study: Certain scholarships may be limited to specific fields of study or academic disciplines. These scholarships aim to support students pursuing education in areas such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), humanities, social sciences, arts, or other specific fields.
  • Leadership and Extracurricular Activities: Scholarships for brilliant students often value leadership skills and involvement in extracurricular activities. This can include participation in student organizations, community service, sports, arts, or other notable achievements outside of academics.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Scholarships for brilliant students may request letters of recommendation from teachers, mentors, or individuals who can vouch for the applicant’s academic excellence, character, and potential.
