About This Scholarship

Are you looking to go to college but need more money? No problem; you have a few more options than you might expect. One option is the Bezos Scholars Program. The program offers scholarships that cover thousands of dollars in tuition each year. If you want a world-class education at an affordable price, then this is the best resource for you. The main goal of this scholarship program is to give top college students who need financial assistance access to opportunities they could never have afforded before. The Bezos Scholars Program is a leadership development program that brings high school students and educators worldwide to explore their leadership potential, learn from global experts, and collaborate on community projects. Jackie and Mike Bezos, the parents of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, funded the program. The program selects a group of 12 high school juniors and their educators each year to participate in a week-long leadership training at the Aspen Institute in Colorado. The program covers all expenses for the participants, including travel, lodging, meals, and program costs. During the week-long seminar, the students explore global citizenship, public policy, and leadership development through workshops, seminars, and group projects.

  • After the seminar, each student works with their educator to design and implement a community project that addresses a local or global issue they are passionate about. The Bezos Family Foundation provides funding and ongoing support for these projects designed to inspire positive change in the students’ communities.
  • The Bezos Scholars Program is highly competitive, and the application process includes a written application, essays, and interviews. The program is open to students worldwide, and the selection process is based on academic achievement, leadership potential, and community involvement.
