The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Spaatz Association Aerospace Leadership Scholarship is offered to Civil Air Patrol cadets who have earned the General Carl A. Spaatz Award, the highest honor in the CAP cadet program. The eligibility criteria for the CAP Spaatz Association Aerospace Leadership Scholarship are as follows:

  • General Carl A. Spaatz Award: Applicants must have earned the General Carl A. Spaatz Award, which is the highest achievement in the CAP cadet program.
  • Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university as a full-time undergraduate student.
  • Academic Achievement: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for this scholarship.
  • Citizenship: All the applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
  • Major Field of Study: Applicants must be pursuing a degree in a major related to aerospace, such as aeronautical engineering, aviation management, or meteorology.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Applicants should demonstrate leadership and extracurricular involvement in the areas of aerospace education, aerospace technology, or aerospace leadership.
  • Essay: Applicants must submit a 500- to 750-word essay on the topic of “The Importance of Aerospace Education in Today’s Society.”
