About This Scholarship

The Cohen Leadership Scholarship, established by Dr. and Mrs. Andrew H. Cohen, will be awarded yearly to a senior at Heritage High School. The recipient must comprehend the meaning of leadership, exhibit leadership qualities towards peers in the classroom, in the community, and within the family, and be prepared to lead in the future. Applications are evaluated on the basis of demonstrated leadership potential, participation in work, school, and the community, as well as awards received during high school. In addition, you’ll need to write an essay regarding your future objectives. Candidates must be Saginaw Township residents, hold a 3.0 GPA, and be full-time students at an accredited college or institution.

Eligibility Criteria For Cohen Leadership Scholarship

Here are some common eligibility criteria that may apply:

  • Leadership Experience: Scholarships focused on leadership often prioritize applicants who have demonstrated leadership abilities through various experiences. This can include leadership roles in school, clubs, organizations, sports teams, community initiatives, or volunteer work. Highlighting your leadership positions, responsibilities, and achievements can strengthen your scholarship application.
  • Academic Performance: Many scholarships have minimum academic requirements, such as a specific grade point average (GPA) or standardized test scores. The specific academic criteria may vary depending on the scholarship program and the level of competition.
  • Personal Statement or Essay: Scholarship applications often require a personal statement or essay where you can describe your leadership experiences, values, and aspirations. This is an opportunity to showcase your leadership skills, qualities, and the impact you have made through your leadership activities. You may also articulate your future goals and how the scholarship would support your growth as a leader.
  • Community Engagement: Scholarships often consider your involvement in community service or volunteer work. Demonstrating your commitment to making a positive impact in your community can strengthen your scholarship application.

This could include initiating projects, organizing events, solving community issues, or starting a venture that addresses a specific need or creates positive change.
