Eligibility Criteria For College of Wooster Music Scholarships

The College of Wooster Music Scholarships are awarded to incoming first-year students who have demonstrated exceptional talent and achievement in music.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a high school senior who has applied for admission to The College of Wooster as a first-year student.
  • Demonstrate exceptional talent and achievement in music, as demonstrated through audition or portfolio submission. The specific requirements and guidelines for auditions and portfolio submissions may vary depending on the instrument or area of music.
  • Maintain active participation in the music program at The College of Wooster, including participation in ensembles, lessons, and other music-related activities.
  • Show evidence of intellectual curiosity and a desire to engage in rigorous academic study.

In addition to meeting these eligibility criteria, applicants must also submit a complete application for admission to The College of Wooster, including transcripts, standardized test scores, and a personal essay. Applicants are also required to submit a separate application for the Music Scholarship, which includes an audition or portfolio submission and letters of recommendation.

The selection process for the scholarship is highly competitive, and only a limited number of awards are available each year. Scholarship recipients receive a partial-tuition scholarship, renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study at The College of Wooster.
