About This Scholarship

The Darrel Hess Community College Geography Scholarship might interest you if you’re currently enrolled in a community college and are planning to transfer to a four-year institution as a geography major. This scholarship is available to students attending community colleges, junior colleges, city colleges, or similar two-year educational institutions who intend to transfer as geography majors to four-year colleges and universities. The program is funded by Darrel Hess, the author of McKnight’s Physical Geography: A Landscape Appreciation, and is offered by the American Association of Geographers (AAG). The AAG aims to provide students, educators, practitioners, and partners with the necessary resources to enter the field, develop their careers, and form lasting professional relationships.
