About This Scholarship

This Scholarship for Summer Study Abroad provides winners with money that can be used to help cover the costs of overseas travel, housing, and maintenance for a minimum of 21 days of study or research outside of the United States. Candidates are judged on their academic ability as well as the significance of their projected study or research abroad experience in relation to their intellectual, professional, and personal career ambitions. This award is intended to: (1) help the recipient have an international experience of at least 21 days outside of the United States as part of his or her educational development; and (2) give the recipient the chance to increase his or her familiarity with the cultures, languages, and societies of other countries.
