Denver Alumnae Chapter. Every year, the chapter awards scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $6,000 (renewable for up to four years). The scholarships aim to support African American women in their pursuit of a college education and honor the legacy of the founders of Delta Sigma Theta, Inc. The Denver Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has awarded collegiate scholarships to deserving African American women since 1939 and has given nearly $500,000 in scholarship funds. These scholarships are available to students pursuing higher education at both 4-year universities and community colleges or trade schools. Several scholarships are named in memory of influential members of the organization and pillars in the Denver community, such as Irma Hudson, Gloria Travis Tanner, and Ruby Kirk Gray.
