About This Scholarship

The Diabetes Scholars Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports and empowers students with type 1 diabetes by providing scholarships and resources to help them pursue their educational and career goals. The foundation was founded in 2008 by parents of children with diabetes and has since awarded over $1.6 million in scholarships to students with type 1 diabetes.

The Diabetes Scholars Foundation offers several scholarship programs, including the College Scholarship Program, the Technical/Trade School Scholarship Program, and the Undergraduate Scholar Award. In addition to financial assistance, the foundation provides resources such as mentorship, advocacy, and educational materials to help students manage their diabetes while pursuing their education.

The Diabetes Scholars Foundation also hosts an annual conference, the Diabetes Scholars Leadership Program, which brings together young adults with diabetes to learn leadership skills, network with peers, and gain knowledge about diabetes management and advocacy.
