About This Scholarship

Diversity Advancement Scholarship has provided more than 10,000 minority students with scholarships for their undergraduate and graduate studies. They believe diversity is key to our society and we must provide opportunities for everyone to succeed. If you’re a student planning to pursue a career in architecture, consider applying for the Diversity Advancement Scholarship. This scholarship is available to high school seniors, rising college sophomores, and current technical school or community college students transferring to NAAB-accredited architecture programs. The Architects Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to attracting and investing in the next generation of architects, offers the scholarship. Through this program, they aim to create a diverse pipeline of architects who reflect the communities they serve. Recipients of the scholarship receive $4,000 annually to support their educational expenses. The scholarship can be renewed for up to five years, totaling $20,000. These scholarships are awarded to applicants who demonstrate financial need, a commitment to architecture and design, an interest in addressing the needs of underserved populations, and a documented history of overcoming adversity. The application requires two letters of recommendation and an essay addressing why you want to become an architect and how you will use your skills to benefit underrepresented communities. You should submit all documents via the online application portal.
