About This Scholarship

The program is designed to encourage and recognize the creativity of young students and to inspire them to pursue their interests in art and design.The scholarship is open to students in grades K-12 who are legal residents of the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Applicants are required to create a doodle that represents their interpretation of the year’s theme, which is usually announced in the fall. Applicants are selected based on their artistic merit, creativity, and adherence to the theme. The application deadline is usually in March, and interested students can visit the Doodle for Google website for more information on the application process and requirements.

The Doodle for Google Scholarship aims to promote creativity and inspire young students to pursue their interests in art and design. The program provides an opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and to be recognized for their talents and achievements.

Eligibility Criteria For Doodle for Google Scholarship

The Doodle for Google Scholarship is a competition that invites K-12 students in the United States to create their own Google Doodle based on a specific theme. 

  • Be enrolled in a public or private elementary, middle, or high school in the United States, or be home-schooled in accordance with the laws of their state.
  • Submit an original and creative Google Doodle that represents the theme for the year.

Note that there are different age groups for the competition: Grades K-3, Grades 4-5, Grades 6-7, Grades 8-9, and Grades 10-12. Each group will have its own judging criteria, and the competition is not open to college or graduate students.

Winners of the Doodle for Google Scholarship will receive a monetary scholarship, a trip to the Google headquarters, and their artwork will be displayed on the Google homepage.
