About This Scholarship

The Dr. Lorraine G. Spranzo Memorial Scholarship is a scholarship awarded by the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to support women pursuing graduate degrees in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM). The scholarship is named in honor of Dr. Lorraine G. Spranzo, a pioneering scientist and AAUW member.

Eligibility Criteria For Dr. Lorraine G. Spranzo Memorial Scholarship

The Dr. Lorraine G. Spranzo Memorial Scholarship is awarded by the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) to support undergraduate or graduate students who are pursuing a degree in accounting or a related field. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a woman who is a citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in accounting or a related field
  • Have completed at least 60 credit hours of college coursework by the application deadline
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Be an active member of the ASWA, or agree to become a member if awarded the scholarship

In addition to meeting these eligibility criteria, applicants must also submit a complete application, including an essay, letters of recommendation, and a statement of financial need.
