About This Scholarship

The EMU Presidential Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship awarded to a limited number of incoming freshmen at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) based on their academic achievements, leadership skills, and community involvement. The scholarship covers full tuition, room and board, and mandatory fees for four years of undergraduate study at EMU.

The scholarship is renewable for up to four years, provided the recipient maintains the required academic and leadership standards. The EMU Presidential Scholarship is highly competitive, and the application process is rigorous. Only a limited number of scholarships are awarded each year, and the selection process is based on a holistic evaluation of the applicant’s academic and leadership potential.

Eligibility Criteria For EMU Presidential Scholarship

The EMU Presidential Scholarship is a highly competitive merit-based scholarship awarded to incoming freshmen at Eastern Michigan University who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential, and community involvement. The eligibility criteria for the scholarship include:

  • High School Graduation: Applicants must be incoming freshmen who have graduated from an accredited high school or have completed a GED.
  • Academic Achievement: Applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Test Scores: Applicants must have a minimum ACT score of 30 or SAT score of 1390.
  • Leadership Potential: Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential through participation in extracurricular activities, community service, and/or employment.
  • Community Involvement: Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to community involvement through volunteer work, service projects, or other activities.
  • Enrollment: Applicants must enroll at Eastern Michigan University as full-time students in the fall semester following their high school graduation.

The Presidential Scholarship covers full tuition, fees, room and board, and provides a $500 per semester stipend for books and supplies for up to four years of undergraduate study at Eastern Michigan University. Recipients of the scholarship are also given priority registration, specialized academic advising, and leadership development opportunities.
