About This Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria For Esperanza Fund Scholarship

The eligibility criteria for the Esperanza Fund Scholarship include:

  • Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate students who are residents of the Greater Philadelphia region, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
  • All the applicants must be of Hispanic/Latino descent, as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.
  • Applicants must be pursuing their first undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university in the United States.
  • Applicants must submit an essay of 500 words or less that addresses the following topic: “How has your Hispanic/Latino heritage influenced your personal and academic achievements, and how will this scholarship help you achieve your future goals?”
  • Applicants must provide two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to their academic achievements, character, and potential for success in their chosen field of study.

The Esperanza Fund Scholarship awards scholarships of up to $5,000 to selected applicants. The scholarship can be renewed for up to three additional years if the recipient continues to meet the eligibility criteria and maintains a minimum GPA of 2.5.
