About This Scholarship

For high school seniors wishing to register in an agriculture-focused college programme in the autumn of next year, thirty $2,500 scholarships are available. Diversity in Agriculture Scholars will be awarded to two students of colour who applied. Academic excellence, involvement and leadership in school and community organisations, as well as a dedication to pursuing a career in agriculture, are all selection requirements.

The recipient must reside in one of Farm Credit Illinois’ 60 central and southern Illinois counties, or their family must be involved in farming there. Each applicant must complete the application and provide a link to the academic verification form to a school representative for submission.

Eligibility Criteria For FCI Agriculture Scholarship Program

Here are some common eligibility criteria that are often considered for scholarships based on academic excellence:

  • Academic Achievement: The primary criterion for an Academic Excellence Scholarship is exceptional academic performance. This typically includes a high Grade Point Average (GPA), outstanding standardized test scores (such as SAT or ACT), class rank, and academic honors or awards.
  • Enrollment in Higher Education: Academic Excellence Scholarships are usually awarded to students who plan to enroll in an accredited college, university, or other higher education institution. The scholarship may require proof of acceptance or enrollment in an eligible program.
  • Field of Study: Some scholarships may be targeted towards students pursuing a specific field of study or major. These scholarships may require you to be enrolled in a particular academic program or demonstrate a strong interest and commitment to a specific subject area.
  • Leadership and Extracurricular Involvement: While academic excellence is the primary focus, many scholarships also value leadership skills and involvement in extracurricular activities. This can include participation in clubs, organizations, community service, sports, or other significant accomplishments outside of the classroom.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Some scholarships may require letters of recommendation from teachers, mentors, or other individuals who can speak to the applicant’s academic achievements and potential.
