About This Scholarship

The FRA Education Foundation Scholarships are scholarship programs offered by the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) to support the education of the children and grandchildren of current and former enlisted members of the United States Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. The FRA Education Foundation offers a range of scholarships to eligible students, including the following:

The FRA Education Foundation Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to eligible high school seniors who plan to enroll in an accredited college or university in the United States. 

The FRA Member Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to the children and grandchildren of current FRA members. 

The FRA Military/Veteran Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to the children and grandchildren of current or former enlisted members of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard. 

The application process for the FRA Education Foundation Scholarships typically opens in the fall of each year, and the application deadline is usually in the spring. 

Eligibility Criteria For FRA Education Foundation Scholarships

The FRA Education Foundation Scholarships are a scholarship program offered by the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) to support the higher education of FRA members, their spouses, and their children or grandchildren. This is a nonprofit organization that represents the interests of enlisted members of the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard.

To be eligible for the FRA Education Foundation Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a FRA member in good standing, the spouse of a FRA member, or the child or grandchild (including stepchildren and adopted children) of a FRA member.
  • Be a graduating high school senior, a high school graduate, or a currently enrolled college student.
  • Plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or vocational-technical school.
  • Have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and must demonstrate financial need.
