About This Scholarship

If you are a part-time graduate student currently employed in public finance for at least two years and plan to continue, you may be eligible to apply for the Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship. This scholarship is offered by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), an organization based in Chicago committed to promoting excellence in public finance. Since 1906, the GFOA has represented countless finance officials in the United States and Canada. The scholarship awards four applicants $10,000 yearly towards their educational expenses and has done so since 2010. The GFOA provides services to a broad group of finance professionals through conferences, continuing education opportunities, and training for specific government positions. Their Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship aims to educate and train public finance leadership for the future. The scholarship awards students entering their final year of study who need financial assistance.
