About This Scholarship

The Greenhouse Scholars Program is a scholarship program that provides financial assistance, mentorship, and career development opportunities to high-performing, under-resourced college students who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities and the world.

Applicants are required to submit an application, essays, letters of recommendation, and transcripts or other academic records. Finalists are invited to participate in an interview with program staff and alumni. The program selects up to 40 scholars each year.

The Greenhouse Scholars Program provides up to $5,000 in financial assistance per year, renewable for up to four years, to cover tuition, fees, and other educational expenses. Scholars also receive mentorship from professionals in their field of interest, career development support, and access to a community of peers and alumni.

Eligibility Criteria For Greenhouse Scholarship

The Greenhouse Scholars Program is designed to support high-performing, under-resourced college students who demonstrate leadership, community service, and academic achievement. To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a graduating high school senior or a college freshman, sophomore, or junior at the time of application and should have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Be a leader in their community and actively involved in community service
  • Plan to attend a four-year accredited institution in the United States full-time
  • Come from a household with an annual income of less than $70,000 or have significant financial need due to other circumstances

In addition to meeting these eligibility criteria, applicants must also complete an extensive application that includes essays, letters of recommendation, and a resume highlighting their leadership, community service, and academic achievements.

The Greenhouse Scholars Program provides scholarship and support throughout a student’s college career, including academic and career mentoring, leadership development opportunities, and access to a network of Greenhouse Scholar alumni.
