Eligibility Criteria For Harold & Bernadine Reiss Scholarship

Here are some common factors that are often considered:

  • Field of Study: Technical education scholarships are typically specific to certain technical fields, such as engineering, computer science, information technology, healthcare, automotive technology, culinary arts, or trade professions like plumbing, electrical work, or welding.
  • Educational Level: Scholarships can be available for various levels of technical education, including vocational or trade schools, community colleges, technical institutes, or specific technical programs within universities. Some scholarships may target students at a particular educational level, such as high school graduates or individuals already enrolled in a technical education program.
  • Program or Course of Study: Scholarships may focus on specific technical programs or courses of study within a broader field. For example, there may be scholarships specifically for students pursuing a certificate in web development, an associate degree in nursing, or a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Academic Merit: Many technical education scholarships consider academic achievement as a criterion. Applicants may need to demonstrate a strong academic record, such as a minimum GPA or class rank.
  • Personal Statement or Essay: Some scholarship applications require applicants to submit a personal statement or essay. This allows applicants to share their educational and career goals, explain their interest in the chosen technical field, and how the scholarship will support their educational journey.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Scholarships may require letters of recommendation from teachers, instructors, employers, or mentors who can speak to the applicant’s skills, potential, and commitment to the technical field of study.
