About This Scholarship

Are you currently enrolled in any professional healthcare program at a post-secondary institution? If this describes you, consider applying for the Health Career Scholarships! Students currently enrolled in their second or third year of any academic healthcare profession training course are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The International Order of The King’s Daughters and Sons, an interdenominational Christian service organization with its headquarters in New York City, is the organization that will be awarding the scholarship. They are convinced that if they help train future medical professionals, it will be easier for them to fulfill their purpose of “caring for all of God’s children.” As a result, they give away many $1,000 scholarships to students studying healthcare each year to assist them in covering the costs of their education. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support to students who are enrolled in a medical career training program at an accredited college or university. The application must be filled out by the student and submitted through the organization’s website. The scholarship will only be awarded to those who prove their commitment to serving humanity and selflessly giving back to their communities. Returning graduates are not eligible for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria For Health Career Scholarships

  • Academic Requirements: Many health career scholarships require students to have a minimum grade point average (GPA) or academic standing. For example, some scholarships may require students to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, while others may require students to be in the top 25% of their class. Students may also need to provide transcripts, test scores, or other academic records to demonstrate their eligibility.
  • Career Goals and Field of Study: Scholarships for health careers may be specific to certain fields of study, such as nursing, pharmacy, or public health. Therefore, students may need to be enrolled in a degree program that aligns with the scholarship’s focus. In addition, some scholarships may require students to demonstrate a strong interest in a particular career path within healthcare, such as primary care or mental health.
  • Financial Need: Many health career scholarships prioritize students who demonstrate financial need. This may involve providing information about family income, household size, and other financial factors. Students may also need to submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or other financial aid applications as part of their scholarship application.
  • Extracurricular Activities and Community Involvement: Health career scholarships may also consider students’ extracurricular activities, community involvement, and leadership experience. This can include volunteering at a healthcare facility, participating in health-related clubs or organizations, or holding leadership positions in school or community activities.
  • Demographic Criteria: Some health career scholarships may be specifically targeted to students from certain demographic groups, such as underrepresented minorities or first-generation college students. Students may need to provide information about their race/ethnicity, family background, or other demographic factors to be considered for these scholarships.
