About This Scholarship

The Heinlein Society Scholarship is a scholarship program offered by the Heinlein Society, a non-profit organization that promotes the legacy and ideas of science fiction author Robert A. Heinlein. The scholarship program is designed to support students who are pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields and who demonstrate financial need.

Eligibility Criteria For Heinlein Society Scholarship

The eligibility criteria for the Heinlein Society Scholarship include:

  • All the applicants must be residents of the United States and they must be full-time undergraduate students attending an accredited four-year college or university in the United States to apply for Heinlein Society Scholarship.
  • All the applicants must be pursuing a degree in one of the following fields of study: engineering, math, or physical sciences and they must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for Heinlein Society Scholarship.
  • Applicants must submit an essay of 1,000 words or less that addresses the following topic: “How Robert Heinlein’s work has influenced today’s space exploration efforts, and how you might be able to contribute to humanity’s efforts to explore the heavens.”
  • Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to their academic achievements, character, and potential for success in their chosen field of study.
  • All the applicants must provide proof of financial need.

The Heinlein Society Scholarship is awarded annually, and the amount of the award varies depending on available funds. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and submit a strong application will be considered for the scholarship.
