About This Scholarship

One of the few public universities in the US that gives merit-based rewards to first-year foreign students is Indiana University. The highest-achieving first-year international students are given the IU Global Engagement Scholarship. Information from the IU Admissions application, such as high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores (if applicable*), is used to evaluate academic performance.  For the purposes of scholarships and admission, only test results that have come directly from the testing organisation will be taken into account.

Eligibility Criteria For Indiana-university-global-engagement-scholarship

Here are some common eligibility criteria for first-year foreign students:

  • Educational Qualifications: You should have completed the equivalent of a high school education or secondary education in your home country. This typically includes obtaining a diploma or certificate that demonstrates successful completion of your secondary education.
  • Academic Records: You will likely need to provide academic transcripts or records from your previous educational institution. These documents should detail your grades, courses taken, and any qualifications obtained.
  • Application Forms: You will need to complete the application forms provided by the institution you are applying to. This typically includes personal information, educational history, and sometimes essays or statements of purpose.
  • Financial Documentation: Many institutions require proof of your ability to cover the costs of tuition, fees, and living expenses while studying. This may involve submitting bank statements, scholarship letters, or other financial documentation.
  • Visa Requirements: If you plan to study in a foreign country, you will generally need to meet the visa requirements set by the respective country’s immigration authorities. This may involve providing proof of acceptance from an educational institution, proof of financial support, and other necessary documents.
  • Application Deadlines: Be sure to submit your application by the specified deadline. Different institutions have different deadlines for accepting applications, so it’s essential to check the official website of the institution or contact their admissions office to determine the specific deadlines.
