About This Scholarship

If you’re a student in Texas studying radio, television, film, public relations, advertising/communications, or broadcasting and have completed more than 50 hours of coursework, consider applying for the Irene Runnels-Paula McStay Scholarship. This scholarship is named after Irene Runnels, a renowned and respected Dallas broadcaster, and Paula McStay, a former advertising executive from Fort Worth. The Alliance sponsors the scholarship for Women in Media Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter is an organization that strives to promote the impact of women, young professionals, and students working in electronic media and related fields. Two fortunate students are awarded the Irene Runnels-Paula McStay Scholarship every year, which helps cover their educational expenses. Eligibility Criteria For Irene Runnels-Paula McStay Scholarships

  • Program of Study: To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a student majoring in one of the following programs: Radio, Television, Film, Public Relations, Advertising/Communications, Broadcasting 
  • Coursework Completed: In addition to the program of study, you must also have completed at least 50 hours of coursework. You must have completed at least two years of college coursework or be a graduate student. The Irene Runnels-Paula McStay Scholarship is open to both public and private university students in Texas who meet these eligibility requirements.
  • Scholarship Details: The scholarship is named after Irene Runnels, a well-respected Dallas broadcaster, and Paula McStay, a former Fort Worth advertising executive. The Alliance for Women in Media Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter sponsors the scholarship. The organization works towards promoting the impact of women, young professionals, and students in electronic media and related fields.
