About This Scholarship

The Illinois Water Environment Association, which links and strengthens the Illinois water community while increasing awareness of the effect and value of water, provides funding for the IWEA Clean Water Scholarship. Two Illinois residents or students attending institutions in Illinois pursuing degrees in water-related fields of study are each awarded a scholarship from the IWEA Clean Water Scholarship, which can be worth up to $1,000. Eligibility Criteria For IWEA Clean Water Scholarship

  • Residency or Enrollment in Illinois: Applicants must be residents of Illinois or currently enrolled in an Illinois university.
  • Interest in Water-related Field of Study: Applicants must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a water-related field.
  • Academic Achievement: Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Application Requirements for IWEA Clean Water Scholarship: In addition to meeting the eligibility requirements, applicants must provide the following materials to complete their application:
  • Personal Statement: Applicants must submit a personal statement outlining their academic and career goals related to water and any relevant experience or activities.

  • Letters of Recommendation: Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to their academic and personal qualifications for the scholarship.
