About This Scholarship

This scholarship is a part of Saginaw Community Founda¬tion. Jennifer L. (Hanson) Jackson was an admirable young lady on a quest to learn everything there was to know. She performed exceptionally well in the classroom while also developing a keen interest in history and the arts, graduating second in her class from Arthur Hill High School in 1995. The Jennifer L. Jackson Memorial Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors from Sagniaw County who are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate programme and have a minimum GPA of 3.3.

Eligibility Criteria For Jennifer L. Jackson Memorial Scholarship

Here are some common eligibility criteria that are often considered for scholarships in history and arts:

  • Academic Performance: Most scholarship programs require applicants to have a strong academic record, typically measured by grade point average (GPA) or equivalent academic achievements.
  • Field of Study: Since you mentioned history and arts, scholarships in these fields generally require applicants to be pursuing a degree or conducting research in history, art history, fine arts, performing arts, visual arts, or related disciplines.
  • Enrollment Status: Scholarships may be available to undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral students. Some scholarships are also open to high school students pursuing an arts-related education.
  • Financial Need: Some scholarships prioritize applicants with demonstrated financial need, as they aim to support students who may face financial barriers to pursuing their education in history and arts.
  • Portfolio or Writing Sample: Scholarships in the arts often require applicants to submit a portfolio of their artistic work, such as paintings, sculptures, performances, or writing samples. This helps evaluate the applicant’s artistic skills and potential.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Applicants may be required to provide letters of recommendation from teachers, professors, or professionals in the field who can attest to their abilities, dedication, and potential.
  • Citizenship or Residency: Some scholarships may be limited to specific countries, regions, or institutions. Certain scholarships might be available to international students, while others are restricted to residents or citizens of a particular country.
